Our Mission Statement
The Mission and Purpose of the Society shall be to bring together those people interested in developing and understanding the history of the Hahns Peak area, and promoting a better understanding of our American heritage; to discover and collect material which may help to establish or illustrate the history of the area, its exploration, settlement and development; to collect such printed materials as histories, genealogies, biographies, newspapers and other manuscript material and museum materials such as pictures, photographs, paintings, area relics, and material objects illustrative of life conditions, events and activities of the past and present; and to provide for the preservation and accessibility of such materials, buildings, monuments and markers under its care.
Become a Volunteer
The Hahns Peak Area Historical Society was formed in 1972 as an outgrowth of the original Hahns Peak Civic and Social Club formed in the 1950s. Operating as a non-profit all-volunteer organization, we are always looking for volunteers to help with our many projects. Let us know what your interest is and we will see you get connected with a project. Some areas we need help with are assisting visitors in our museum, set-up, and clean-up for our Ice Cream Social/Arts & Craft Fair, upkeep on our buildings and grounds, and the bundling of firewood, another one of our fundraiser projects.
If you would like to be added to our volunteer list, please email us at [email protected]
We appreciate your support of the Hahns Peak Area Historical Society!
